Chapter 2 par. 2.6. Elimination part – Playoffs
1.After completion of the EUHL Regular Season the teams will be entered into a table based on points earned that will be used to determine the first six teams advancing into the EUHL Playoff (in case of a tie the resolution shall follow criteria set out in the Manual), unless the EUHA determines otherwise.
2.The EUHA reserves the right to additionally modify the playoff system for the EUHL Season via an amendment to this Manual. The EUHA Board Committee shall determine the starting date of beginning of EUHL Playoff 2021/2022 and notify individual teams of this date without any undue delay. The teams shall be obliged to respect the Board´s decision.
Completion of the regular season of EUHL 2021/2022 on 23.3.2022
EUHL 2021/2022 play-off schedule the play-off of the current EUHL season will take place on the following dates:
Quarterfinal 24. 3.2022 – 1.3.2022
Semifinals 3.4.2022 – 9.4.2022
Final 11.4. 2022 – 21.4.2022
EUHL 2021/2022 play-off game system
EUHL 2021/2022 quarterfinals will be played on the following system:
The first and second teams after the main season of EUHL 2021/2022 will be involved in the semi-final matches in which they will meet the winners of the quarterfinals.
The third team after the main season will play the quarterfinals with the team who placed sixth.
The fourth team after the main season will play the quarterfinals with the team that placed fifth
EUHL 2021/2022 semifinals will be played on the following system:
The first team after the main season will play the match with the winner of the quarterfinal match, which was the worst placed after the main season of EUHL 2021/2022.
The second team placed after the main season will play a semi-final match with the second advancing team from the quarterfinals.
The winners of the semi-finals will meet in the finals of the EUHL 2021/2022 playoffs for the Sekeras Trophy.
The quarterfinals and semi-finals are played in two winning matches, with the first two matches being organized by a better placed participant after the basic part, unless otherwise agreed. Subsequently, the series moves to the worse placed participant, who organizes the last match. The finals are played in three winning matches, with the first two matches being organized by a better placed participant, unless otherwise agreed. Subsequently, the series will move to the weaker placed participant, who will organize two more matches, if the series does not end with the third match. The eventual last fifth final match will be organized again, after the main season by a better placed participant. EUHA reserves the right to determine the change in exceptional cases (eg if the home team does not have the opportunity to organize a match or enter the organization on the proposed date, playing time, place and set a new playing date that the parties will respect. In case one of the university teams if he refuses or does not take part in this match, which has been designated by the EUHA, automatic contumacy will occur to the detriment of the non-participating party (see point 2.4 (1)).
Overtime in the EUHL Playoff 2021/2022In case, if the play-off match is not decided in regular time, there will be a 20-minute overtime played by the 3-on-3 system, which lasts until the „golden goal“ is scored, without the possibility of penalty shooting.
The home team in the case of overtime of any EUHL play-off matches is responsible for ensuring that the match can be completed properly under the designated overtime system. Otherwise, the contumacy match will be to the detriment to the home team. The ice service will always be done before the next overtime
