UNI GYŐR ETO HC Opens the New EUHL Season on Home Ice

Győr enters the new campaign following a season in which it was one of the teams setting the pace in the league. UNI GYŐR ETO HC finished the 2025/2026 EUHL regular season at the top of the standings, heading into the decisive stage of the competition as the league leader. At the Sekeráš Trophy, the team ultimately secured third place and the bronze medals.

The team’s strong season was also reflected in a number of individual awards. Bence Dézsi was named MVP, Benedek Horváth received the award for Best Defenceman, while Sebestyén Csata was recognised as the league’s Best Goal Scorer. Head coach Mátyás Odnoga also received recognition for his work behind the bench, earning the EUHL Coach of the Year award.

But last season’s results now belong to the past. A new campaign starts from zero – and for Győr, it begins on home ice.

The opening tournament of the 2026/2027 season will provide the first indication of how UNI GYŐR ETO HC can build on last year’s performances. Home ice, the support of the local crowd and the first points of the new season will add an extra edge to three days of university hockey in Győr.

From 14 to 16 October, the EUHL action returns. The puck drops in Győr – and the battle for the new season begins.
